How to... Add sound to a slideshow

Displaying your pictures in an automatic slideshow is nice but have you thought of adding background music or a commentary to make it even enjoyable to watch?

No problem! With MyAlbum it's easy to add sound to your slideshow!

The basic concepts

MyAlbum is able to play most sound files including wav, midi, mp3, cd audio tracks,...

The basic idea is that you can attach a sound at the album level (the sound will be played whenever a slideshow is started) or at the picture level (it will be played when the picture is displayed).

You will the be able, if your sound board allows this, to play a background music (album level) and a different commentary for each picture (picture level).

For playing a sound you have to define a Play Command. The syntax of these Play Commands is described in the Reference section. Take caution to follow closely the described syntax.

The easy way

MyAlbum can help you build a Play Command.

In MyAlbum, open either the Album Info (F6) window for an album-level sound or the Picture Info window (F7) for assigning a sound to a particular picture.

Leave the window open and open the Windows Explorer. Locate the sound file(s) you want to use and, with the mouse, drag the file from the Explorer and drop it over the Album or Picture Info window. The Play Command will be built for you!

The (not so) hard way

You can of course enter your Play Command manually or modify an automatically built one for adding options or parameters.

Just follow closely the described syntax (no spaces on either side of the vertical bars!) and it will work.
